Summer Whites

I got the idea for this outfit when I was walking around the city and saw these two painters on lunch break. They were both wearing all white with brown work boots and paint... everywhere. I left the paint splatters out and chose this painted stripe zip envelope for a clutch instead. Sadly, the fun Mini Cooper belt doesn't make it out of my closet often, but I thought it was appropriate here.

Pop of Color

I found this great teal zip envelope at Coach and just had to pick one up. The color is a cool way to add some color to your look, and the leather is hand-stained vachetta so I think it will get more of a patina with use. I can't wait to start using this thing as a small clutch... I'm sure it'll make it's way into an outfit post.

Runway Thursday: Givenchy SS13

I always love Givenchy, especially the past few seasons  - to the point of mild obsession, but I am not wild about this season... maybe it will grow on me. The religious theme in fashion is growing, so maybe I just need some time.  My favorite thing about this show, and Spring 2013 as a whole, is the use of silk for men. I'm all about it! My top pick is the silk bomber jacket with the print on the front.

Gingham and Grape

This leather clutch is from the new Legacy Collection at Coach. It's roomy enough for the things you need to carry around and made from a thick, unlined leather. You can win one HERE (My MANy Bags Blog). For the rest of this look, I thought the micro-gingham, khaki's and browns could use a pop of color so the grape colored shoes did the trick.

Bottega Veneta at Home

When I was looking through Bottega's Website the other day, I stumbled upon this collection of home accessories in the house's traditional woven leather. Apparently they make pillows, desk accessories, and things for the dining table too. My favorites are the woven leather pillows - for a luxurious bed situation that would make me refuse to get up for anything.

Runway Thursday: Alexander McQueen SS13

I am really enjoying all of the silk in the Men's collections this season - it's interesting to see such a feminine textile in menswear shapes. I especially like the silk bomber jackets we've seen in a few shows so far. I'm looking forward to seeing how people will style these pieces on their own.
My favorite look in the show is on the bottom left. The mix of different scaled patterns and the crisp white look great together, and I am still loving the tassel slippers!

Beach Fun

I'm so happy that I was finally able to get some beach time in and get a chance to wear these swim trunks that I got from GILT a few months back. (You can find similar ones HERE.) With the orange and purple scarf print, I put on a lightweight chambray shirt and sandals. My painted Coach tote was perfect to hold all of my stuff for a day at the beach.

New Prada Boots.

July and January are the worst months to be financially responsible! I've been doing pretty well, but these boots were too good to pass up - they were 50% off and I was able to talk them down another $50 because they had some scratches. Hehehe! I know they will become a fall/winter staple for me because the two tone design is so versatile. The traditional wingtip detail is updated with geometric cut outs, and the soft nappa leather cuff gives it a casual look. So excited to wear these!

Tribal Men and Campfires?

I went to New York last month and I stopped at Top Man, among many other shops. The dressing room line was unreasonably long as usual so I was determined not to buy anything I had to try on, but this shirt was love at first sight. The thought of leaving it on the rack was almost unbearable so, sparing the heartache, I tried it on outside the dressing room and took it home! It has a vintage look and was a weird tribal man / campfire motif, which I thought would be perfect with overly cuffed jeans. It's very rare for me to go belt-less, but in this case it looked like I was trying too hard so I opted out.

Side Note:
These shoes are wearing exceptionally well. I unknowingly gouged the toe on the second wear, but its fading among the other scuffs and the leather is getting an awesome patina.
